Combining the science of the thought habit finder assessment and the “The Greatest Salesman in the World,’ we align our habits to be the BEST version of ourselves! When we move to and be who we want and let go of the pain of bad thought habits, our worlds change. As I was reading ‘The Greatest Salesman in the World,’ I came across this quote from Og Mandino:
‘I will build good habits and become their slaves.’
Habit 3: The power of good habits. 2 MM at a time.
In scroll 1, “The Greatest Salesman in the World:” The power of good habits, we read about ‘today I begin a new life.’ The best version of my new life lies within my habits. At first, I thought this sounded powerful – but impossible – we humans resist structure and forget to realize structure is the key to freedom. In other words, what we want is typically on the other side of the wall. I have come to find that taking on the BIG UGLIES (habits I know I must change now), my self-confidence and happiness builds when I take the first step. Quitting smoking, stopping my several cups of coffee a day habit, and maintaining health/making workouts a must, to name a few. I must agree, the journey of a million miles starts with a single step. So true!
What I have learned from studying, teaching, and living the power of habits
- Habits are built 1 step at a time
- Building a new habit is simply letting go of the old and welcoming in the new.
- Every time I change a habit, I always say ‘why didn’t I do that sooner,’ not ‘Why did I do it later?
- Our habits either improve us and our life happiness and health- or they destroy us
